Blah, blah, blah......
Finally the unpredictable blogger editor is working again. So finally can BLOG about my fcuk up life. Aiyah kidding lah..not fcuk up lah...just super F only lor... where F stands for Father shout, mother shout (Hokkien Kao Bei, Kao Bu!) lah...
I added a new link to a blogger (see side bar). His site is Mada Mada, he's a twenty year old guy just starting to waste his 2 years life in NS and now trying to chow ken his way out of the "siong" Army Life.
To me, the life of the modern Singapore recruit is really like that of a sissy aka bapok. They got servants to serve them their daily meals, wash their plates and they don't even need to clean the cookhouse. They are just short of having the Ah Sum to bathe them and powder them.
Compared to our olden days where we as recruits have to wash cookhouse, bear the temperment Ah Beng cooks who sometimes out to tekang you, give a moutain full of plain rice accompanied by an one inch size stale chicken meat topped with some yellow vegetables.
Also, let's look at the typical life of a solider now.
1) 7.30am wake up go breakfast
2) 8.30am come back and sleep
3) 12.30pm change and go for lunch
4) 1.30pm come back and sleep
5) 4.30pm stroll on the 2.4km track
5) 6pm eat dinner
7) 7pm rest and free time for R&R
8) 11pm lights off!
Now, let's look at a lao jiao soldier some years back.
1)6.45am wake up and stand out platoon level carrying our metal trays for breakfast.
2) 7.15am sleepy Sgt comes out and kao bei that we the Botak "disturb" his beauty sleep!
3) 7.30am Still no breakfast...doing pull ups before breakfast.
8)8.30am Finished breakfast, draw arms
9)8.45am Stand by bed warning order out.
10)9am Panic
11) 9.30am Missiles of toothbrush, kiwi, cup, fork and spoon flying in the bunk
12) 10.45am One hundred and twenty push ups with 200 more to go!
