Our Singapore Ministers

It's been a while since I posted anything.
The hot debate on the notion of the ministers pay deserves some of my blogging time.

I was asked before whether their increase in pay was justifiable.
I do dare say "NO!"

Let's look at this my reasons.

1) They are in the government sector, less risk so therefore no reason why they should compare their pay to the private sector.

2) The statistics of the jump in pay for private sector reflects only those of the very top management, which means not the majority of the Singaporean get the raise.

3) Ministers are bounded to serve the Country. Their reward is that they are able to progress together with the Nation. They are supposed to be noble and sacrifice themself for the bigger cause. Yet they are now talking about "Monetary" awards.

4) Former NKF director Mr Durai pay package was widely condemmed. Reason: Charities should not have a highly paid CEO. All ministers supported this and let's us now look at this irony.

5)If Minister would "flee" from their post to private sectors simply because they are paying well, then we might as well not have them. This reason is so unjustifiable. Now, I feel that our Ministers are nothing more than Mecenaries.

6)Do they actually deserve it? Let's put a voting through the polls and I'm sure there are Ministers out there which have not done enough to merit such a rise. Increments, yes! But only to those that deserves it. Not just across the board.
