Rooftop

Probably I'm a sucker for such stuffs.

Makan, makan and makan

This post is a repsonse to AG, who has been seeking for some pictures taken in HongKong. Anyway, those that are worth mentioning are these food pics, each with a story to be told on its own.

A delectable feast whipped up in the wee hours of the nights. Started cooking at midnight and the whole feast lasted till 3am. Yup, what you see here is just the leftover stuff in the fridge. Very tasty as two jokers finished all the food plus at least half a dozen beer. Hick!

Another meal whipped up. These time with some planning cos got guests coming mah. Anyway, I think there are more dishes but no time to make. Anyway, got Wee's Tom Yam and Mik's beef rendang curry. Not too bad!

Fab vegetarian dishes from Lantau Big Buddha monestary. Paid HKD100 bucks to visit and sample the dishes. Very full! Must try if anybody makes a trip there. Slightly expensive for the 100 dollar "Donation", but worth a try!

HongKong deep fried pork kunckles. Great but kind of disappointed as I have imagined myself to feast into those like the German Pork Kunckles. Big, juicy and crispy....Hmm heavenly..however this will do just fine in HK.

That's all for the food column.

Chow!

Whatever....

Just wanted to talk about Hong kong, food and beer. However, tried to use the "hello" software to upload the picutures. Turned out to be a dud. Anyway, it is late. So with that beer picture in mind, cheers!

I am Singaporean

This is inspired by Mr Brown, “ I am Singaporean” After all National Day is coming, so we should probably have some “ National Pride”.

I have a Japanese name, but I am not a Jap.
My grandfather is from Swatao so is my grandmother.
They talk about China as their homeland, but I don’t feel it that way.
I started school with bright results but ended off with poor results.
I speak good Teochew and my only first English word was in Primary One.
Now, I curse more in Hokkien and Singlish and I become more of a Singaporean.
I loved good food and this is my downfall.
I’m obese but I do not care.
I hated Army especially Reservist. However I still go faithfully.
I can’t pass my IPPT so I attend RT.
My first real job is in a foreign bank but I did not earn big bucks.
I can’t afford all the 5 Cs but I got one at least one C.
I loved my country but I will not attend NDP.
I’m willing to die for my country so says all other MPs wannabes.
I am Singaporean.
So say we all.

Lazy & Hong Kong

It’s been a long time since I put something into my blog. I don’t deny the fact that I have been overseas for an holiday, but it’s never an excuse for not updating the blog. The main reason is perhaps that of laziness. Yup, lazy, so lazy that each day I look at my tummy, it seems to tell me that I might go into labour anytime.

The trip to Hong Kong has been pretty interesting. One of the things that I have learnt from this trip is that I should take it easy. No more rush slight seeing trips where you attempt at record speed to catch every touristy sights in that limited days you have. My mind nowadays sing a different tune, it seems to be telling me “ Relax lah! Brother! Your body is not made of steel but flesh fats!” Yah Yah, I know, no longer what it used to be. Slop, crouch potato now! (You get the general picture.)

One of my tips for a good trip is to get yourself booked into a service apartment, the kind with a living room, a cosy bedroom and with a little kitchen for you to whip up some snacks. Here you can have the life of a touristy couch potato and tune your mind to the zen like trance of “nuaning” (Hokkien for doing nothing) Heavenly! A hotel will never give you such a lifestyle.

Now where shall I go for my next trip?

Powerful Force

The end of World Cup is coming near, my Italians are hiting the finals so which means my investment might be giving me returns. Nights of gluing to the TV screen would soon be over. Exhaustion, panda eyes and the last moments of euphoric may soon vanish and the whole world would once again be able to return to their daily routines. However, even the end is drawing near, I could clearly feel that there is one big winner.

Guess who?

It's not the World Cup Champions (Italy but of course), not the fans, but the bookies!
You see, no matter who wins the Cup, they are already the winners!
#$%&, you might be cursing at the thought of that, but still we are still contributing to them despite all said and done.

Irony, isn't it? Just like that lame poster put up by the Singapore Pools, "Play Responsibly." Ya, play responsibly indeed.

Cheers!
(By the time anybody read this, I would probably be down with another $50-$60 and contributing "responsibly" to the Singapore Pools.)
